Post-purchase upsells: turning order edits into added revenue

Where post-purchase upsells fit in the Shopify order journey, and how accepted offers settle automatically without a second checkout.

  • Upsells
  • Revenue

A customer who is editing their order is already engaged and already in a buying mindset. That is a natural, low-friction moment to recommend something relevant — and because the order still exists, an accepted upsell can be added without a second checkout.

Three places offers appear

Mayra can surface recommendations in three spots: in the edit flow while the customer is making changes, on the order status page as a "You might also like" strip, and after a committed edit as a "Complete your order" prompt. Each one meets the customer at a point where adding an item feels natural.

Accepted offers settle automatically

When a customer accepts an upsell, the item is added to the same order and the new total settles automatically through Shopify — no separate transaction, no manual admin work. Added revenue shows up in your analytics alongside edits saved and cancellations deflected.
